Openbiblelearning.com is run by a collection of Bible believers affiliated to, but independent from, the Christadelphian community. We are a non-profit making organisation which aims to provide visitors to the site with learning material to assist in reading and understanding the Bible.
This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect your personal data.
We collect personal data via the registration forms on the pages of openbiblelearning.com and use email addresses for the purpose of facilitating the remote learning programs we offer.
We will never sell your data to anybody, nor will we share it with another organisation for their own benefit and use. We may share it with another organisation within the Christadelphian community, or an external service provider, when they are acting on our behalf as a data processor in line with the uses outlined in this policy. Examples of this include MailChimp (for sending emails – you can unsubscribe at any time).
Registration to receive course content by email
We send course material by email only when it is specifically requested via the registration pages on the website.
We send occasional emails containing news about courses or events and relevant information and this may be performed via an email platform such as MailChimp.
You will only receive these emails if you have explicitly consented to receive them. You are free to unsubscribe at any time; details of how to do so are included in each email, or you can email admin [AT] openbiblelearning.com with your request.
Attendance at a public event
If you attend one of our public courses or events, you may be invited to provide us with your name and contact details.
These details will only be stored with your consent in order to advise you of future events or relevant information we believe may be of interest to you.
Your details will be stored in an encrypted environment. This may include cloud services but the use of end to end encryption will ensure that your data is not accessible by the cloud provider.
Your details will be kept for as long as you maintain an active interest in our activities. If we haven’t heard from you for a period of two years, we may contact you to see if you wish for us to continue holding your data. If we haven’t heard back from you within thirty days, your personal data will be deleted.
Use of our websites
If you use this website or any of our affiliated websites linked from this site, we will collect personal data in certain circumstances.
We collect aggregated and anonymised usage statistics including browser details and pages viewed via WordPress, Google Analytics and Cloudflare.
If you fill out and submit our contact form, or register for a course or an event, we will collect your name, email address and home town.
Usage of our websites is protected by an SSL certificate at all times.
We consider the lawful basis for this processing to be legitimate interests, in order to operate our websites effectively, and provide an easy way to contact us.
We also operate a Facebook page to share information and for you to contact us. Facebook may store additional information in line with their data policy which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.
Your rights
You may email admin [AT] openbiblelearning.com at any time to:
- Request a copy of all the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct any personal data we hold that is inaccurate
- Delete your personal data
- Make a complaint
If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the ICO via their website at https://www.ico.org.uk.
